Post-Holi Skin & Hair Care

Hey fashionistas!

Worried about your skin and hair being damaged after playing Holi? Well, now it's time to bid farewell to the worries and play as much as you can! Drench yourself in those colors like you used to do as a kid. Before you play, make sure you follow the "Pre-Holi Skin Care" routine, and to take care of your skin and hair after playing Holi, you need to follow the following steps:

  • Shampoo and Conditioner

While taking a bath, do wash your hair with shampoo properly. Do not forget to use a good hair conditioner too (you should use it every time you wash your hair, though). My personal recommendation for shampoos are:

1. TRESemmé Expert Selection range

2. L'oreal Serie Expert

I am really fond of these shampoos. They smell great and work wonders for my hair.

Some good conditioners are:

1. Dove Oxygen Moisture Conditioner

2. L'oreal Total Repair 5 repairing conditioner

3. TRESemmé Expert Selection Keratin Smooth Conditioner

  • Clean your face
Clean the skin of your face with a cleanser to remove the dirt and colors from your face. You can use a face wash too, however, it doesn't work as good as a cleanser.
  • Exfoliate your skin
You need to scrub your skin in order to get rid of all the colors properly. Exfoliate the skin on your face and body. This will also remove the dead skin cells and will make the skin look fresh with a natural glow. You can use a homemade scrub made by mixing honey, coconut or olive oil, and sugar together or you can use the ones available in the market. I'd recommend:

1. Lakme Clean Up Pores Face Scrub

2. Biotique Advanced Ayurveda Bio Papaya Tan-Removal Scrub

  • Hydrate your skin
The last step for your skin is to hydrate it well. You can use rose water for the same. It works as a toner and as a hydrator at the same time. Moreover, it's safe to use for all skin types.

Optional step: Use a moisturizer after it if your skin still feels dry.

  • Use a Hair Mask
You need to treat your hair with love after they have been exposed to the harsh chemicals. Use a homemade hair mask. Here are the ingredients you need for it: curd, one egg, lemon juice. Mix all of it together, apply it on your hair and leave it on for nearly 30 minutes before you rinse it off. Bare with the smell, readers, it's totally worth it.
Apply a hair serum after rinsing it off. You may use Livon serum or Khadi Smooth and Silky Hair.

That's it for this post!
Happy Holi, play carefree!
