Rosewater: Your skin's best friend

Rosewater is something that I use every day, without fail. Why? Besides its pleasant fragrance, rosewater has a lot of skin benefits and is suitable for all skin types. It is made from rose petals (as the name suggests) and works like a magic potion. Once you start using it, you would really want to use it everyday and it'll soon become your skin's best friend. Below are the benefits of using rosewater on your skin:

• Application of rosewater hydrates and moisturizes the skin.

• It definitely adds some glow to your skin, naturally.

• It soothes the skin.

• It acts as a refreshing cleanser and can be used to remove dirt or makeup from the face, and also prevents acne. It can also cure eczema.

• It helps control excess oil.

• It acts as a natural anti-aging product as it strengthens the skin cells.

• Using it after washing your face or steaming helps shrink the open pores and makes the skin firm by tightening the capillaries. 

• It works wonderfully as a toner.

• It has a pleasant aroma.

Which rose water? 

There are many brands that provide rosewater. Earlier, I used the rose water by Dabur. However, it started to irritate my skin and didn't suit me well.

Now, I'm using Khadi Natural Rosewater. It is made using purified water, rose extracts and aloevera extracts. It doesn't irritate my skin and works just right.

Cost: ₹125 for a 210ml bottle.

When and how should you use it?

Use it every day after washing your face or after steaming. You can either pour the rose water over cotton and apply it on your face and neck, or you can pour it in a spray bottle and spray it directly on your face and neck. I prefer the latter.
